A marketing communications professional for the last 10+ years, Deborah has a background that aligns strongly with Stand for Children’s work in the state of Washington.
Most recently Deb was the first senior communications staffer for Experience Corps, a new AARP program that trains older adults as reading tutors in underserved kindergarten through third grade classrooms. While there, she created a digital presence, strengthened the brand, established strong ties with an external cohort of communications professionals in the national education arena, increased media impressions dramatically and implemented campaign-based communications support to the field.
She has also produced successful communications campaigns for AARP’s legislative work in a number of states, many of which contributed to legislation that improved the lives of AARP members and their families.
Outside of the office, Deb is serves on the Board of her neighborhood association, taking an active interest in issues such as growth, transportation, and crime and safety.
She is an avid traveler, sport bike rider and foodie who lives with her husband John, and their dog Bootsy, in a charming bungalow in North Seattle.
