20 Years of Education Advocacy

Current Events & News, Who We Are | 05/31/2016

Lauren Sandherr National Marketing & Communications Coordinator

Lauren manages the execution of Stand's marketing projects and hopes to bring needed attention to education issues.

Today we blew out the 20 candles on our cake. Today Stand for Children turns 20 years old.

That's 20 years of advocacy for children, fighting at all levels to ensure that every child receives a quality education and the chance to graduate from high school college- and career-ready. We could not have made it this far without our incredibly hardworking staff; our inspiring and committed members; our dedicated partners; and every single person that has supported us over the years by sharing our mission, signing a petition, attending an event, or donating to the cause.

We've spent the last couple weeks highlighting significant victories in our states and the moving stories of our passionate members, but here's a video that gets to the heart of why we've got to continue the education advocacy work we do. We may have come a long way in 20 years, but there is still so much work to be done.
