Stand for Children is turning 20 years old this summer! Within the past two decades, we've opened 11 state affiliates who have accomplished significant things for students in their states. We continue our celebration of these wins (read part 1 here) by looking at the distinctive histories of the next group of states to be founded.

Washington

Since 2007, the Washington affiliate has been putting their stamp on education in the state through things like the establishment of an educator mentoring program and support of a bill that encourages districts to adopt Academic Acceleration.

Arizona

From boosts in school funding to improving state assessments standards, along with a tremendous amount of grassroots organizing, Arizona has been making significant strides for children since 2009.

Colorado

Stand Colorado has achieved great things for children - including helping to develop and pass the READ Act, a K - 3 literacy development bill, and improving its implementation - since it was founded in 2009.
