Carrie Griffin Monica
Carrie Griffin Monica joined Stand Louisiana in 2012 as the Marketing and Communications Director and has had a hand in almost every facet of the organization’s work since that time; managing state operations, providing daily direction to the Educator All-Star Program, and serving as the lead on managing the higher standards and aligned assessments project. Carrie has extensive experience in campaign management and politics. Before joining Stand Louisiana in 2012, Monica was the policy manager at the Louisiana Campaign for Tobacco - Free Living where she worked tirelessly statewide to spread the word about the dangers of secondhand smoke in order to build, engage, and mobilize advocates to bring smoke-free workplaces to all employees in Louisiana. As Stand’s Marketing and Communications Director, Carrie coordinated and led the organization’s branding, messaging, and media campaign development and roll out while creating and executing media strategies to increase the number of people in Louisiana who are willing to take action to give kids the education they deserve.
Carrie has 15 years of experience in fundraising, issue, and political campaign management; communications & public relations; and mobilizing paid and volunteer teams toward shared goals. With experiences ranging from running a $3 million annual campaign for United Way of Eastern Maine to leading statewide policy and media advocacy efforts, Carrie excels at creating and executing winning campaigns. Carrie Griffin Monica, and the rest of the Stand team, will continue to engage parents around Louisiana to improve education for the 700,000 kids in our public schools.
