Aviva grew up outside of Boston, Massachusetts, where she had the opportunity to attend one of the best public high schools in the state. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy from the University of Chicago and is currently earning her Master’s in public policy at the University of Chicago’s Harris School of Public Policy.
Aviva joined Teach for America after college, working for four years in a Chicago public charter high school teaching math and special education. Aviva has also worked on political campaigns and at the Illinois State Charter School Commission.
As a policy analyst, Aviva researches policy issues and helps with drafting legislation to ensure all students in Illinois have access to a quality education.
Aviva lives in Chicago, where she serves as an elected member of her neighborhood school’s Local School Council.
