MaryGrace Longoria was born in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Her parents both emigrated from Mexico at a young age and enlisted in the Army after high school, giving MaryGrace the opportunity to spend the majority of her early years in South America and experience a number of different cultures. MaryGrace went on to attend the University of Colorado at Boulder and, thanks to the work ethic her mother instilled, graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor's Degree in Philosophy of Law and Society.
Prior to working with Stand, MaryGrace was a Field Organizer for a presidentail campaign where she mobilized volunteers in Boulder. MaryGrace then went on to teach middle school Language Arts as part of Teach for America in Miami, Florida. Her passion for education is rooted in her own experience and the inequity she witnessed as a teacher in a high-needs school. As an Educator Organizer for Colorado, she is now combining her passion for education and organizing by mobilizing teachers around policy directly affecting the success of kids. MaryGrace enjoys spending time with her two cats and playing disc golf in her spare time. She also relishes traveling as much as possible.
