Resources for Parents

The spring of 2015 was the first time Colorado students took the PARCC exam, which is part of the Colorado Measures of Academic Success (CMAS). These tests are aligned to our new higher standards, the Colorado Academic Standards. Colorado parents will soon be recieving information about how their students did on the PARCC test so we have compiled some resources to help support your child's learning at home.

  • GreatKids State Test Guide for Parents: This guide is designed help parents understand their child's state test scores and identify ways to support learning all year long. GreatKids worked with PARCC and teachers in every grade to break down what childen need to know and exactly how parents can help.
  • Be a Learning Hero's Skill Builder:  The Skill Builder compiles hundreds of simple online activities that can help kids fill gaps identified by the PARCC test. You can select a state, grade, subject and category from your children's test results, and see learning games and lessons selected just for them. Most activities take ten minutes or less.
  • PARCC's Understand the Score: This site provides additional background on the PARCC test, helps parents understand the PARCC score reports, and compiles information and resources for parents to help their children at home.
