About Rick Enstrom
Rick is a candy maker by trade and an outdoorsman at heart. As a third generation Coloradan, Rick has spent his life working in the 50-year-old family business, Enstrom Candies Inc., and exploring everything that the great Colorado outdoors has to offer.
At the age of 12, Rick and his family moved from Lakewood to Grand Junction to begin the second generation of the family business. Rick attended Fruita Monument High School where he met Linda, his wife of 36 years. Rick graduated from Mesa College (now CMU) where he received a track scholarship during his first two years. At the age of 24, Rick was elected Mesa County Commissioner. At that time, he was the youngest person ever elected to that office in Colorado.
In 1985, Rick and Linda moved back to the Front Range with their two sons to expand the family business, Enstrom Candies, now in its third generation. Rick is a former president and CEO of the Cherry Creek Chamber of Commerce. In 1997, he was named one of Colorado's Emerging Leaders by Colorado Business Magazine.
The Enstroms moved to Lakewood in 1991, where they currently reside. Both sons and their families live in Lakewood as well. Rick and Linda have three wonderful grandchildren, two of whom attend Jefferson County public schools.
After so many years dedicated to raising his family and looking for ways to give back to the state that he grew up in, Rick is excited for the opportunity to run for the state House and hopes to use his experience in the private sector to jumpstart Colorado's economy and ensure that future generations have the same opportunities to work, live, and play in his native state.
