What We've Done

Our history and impact in a nutshell

In 2014 alone, our team and parents achieved the following:


  • Successfully defeated seven anti-standards bills and rigorously lobbied in favor of policy that supports high standards and smarter tests that measure learning and 21st century skills
  • Supported and helped pass a two-year transition bill related to school accountability to allow time for state to implement new assessment
  • Opposed and defeated two bills limiting the ability of parents to partner with schools on bonds and override elections

By the numbers:

42, 815 - Letters sent to Arizona Legislators in support of high standards and funding for a quality test that actually helps parents and teachers know where to best support students


  • Elected 18 education champions
  • Organized 13 phone banks and five canvassing events in support of Stand-endorsed candidates
  • Partnered with education community local FOX affiliate to host only gubernatorial debate about education during primetime

  • Partnered with Univision to bring information to parents about Arizona’s college and career ready standards and preparing students for college
  • Mobilized parents for 51 events
  • Activated 578 members statewide to take action
  • Assisted parents in the Alhambra School District to create a program that partnered high school honor students with elementary school kids in the district
  • Informed and activated a list of more than 17,000 email supporters
